HOW TO: Marketing on a Budget
News flash: 2004 is here. Of course, you completed
your '04 marketing plan last quarter and you're ready
to hit the ground running, right?
What's that? No budget? No staff? No time? Not to worrythere
are many effective, low-cost ways to increase awareness
of your company. Here are a few:
| |
Show up. You know
all those networking functions you've been meaning
to go to? Well, quit making excuses. Instead, make
a resolution to get out this
year! Relationships are still the key to making
the sale and keeping the customer. |
|
| |
Get involved. Join
a committee at your local chamber of commerce or
professional association. It helps to solidify your
credibility as a competent and effective person. |
|
| |
Get the 52-time rate.
In this economy, advertising sometimes feels like
a four-letter word. But remember, if you commit
to regular advertising, not only will you see a
greater return, you will get a much better rate
per ad. |
|
| |
Make some news. The
papers want to run a story about you, but let's
face ityou're boring. Make some news in your
community or your industry. |
|
| |
Try a referral organization.
There are several organizations in the area
that help their members build business. I recommend
Network
Referral Group. |
|
| |
Put your website on steroids.
On the web, content is king. Write compelling, informative
content or pay someone to do it for you. If your
website hasn't been updated since this time last
year, you need help! |
Of course, as always, if you need a hand, you know
where to find us!
| |
My best in 2004!
